We picked up our honey from Rick tonight and put it on the scale...drumroll please.....63 POUNDS! I had estimated we'd get about 50, so bonus! I am definitely going to make mead now and use 10 pounds for that. If anybody wants some, just let me know. We'll be jarring it up in the next coupla weeks. Now, we just need to treat the hives for mites using formic acid, then put the entrance reducer on to keep away mice, etc. and then put tar paper on in November and leave them alone till Valentine's Day, when we'll give them some sugar.
So the triathlon is tomorrow. I laid out everything I needed and did a dry run of the transitions...swim to bike, bike to run. So I put on my wetsuit, etc. and ran around the yard, taking everything off, and getting into my bike stuff. Thank god we live deep in the woods, because I'm sure I looked just a little bit foolish. Jon is coming with me and my very good friend Lois is coming too. She is a triathlon veteran and is actually the person who encouraged me to try this in the first place so I am SO HAPPY she is coming. We're going to leave here around 6:30, get to Biddeford around 8 and the race doesn't start till 10. I just want to be sure I get parking and have a chance to get situated, and that there is still time to back out of the swim if I need to (though I don't expect to). I'm actually really excited about it! Tomorrow I will be a triathlete!!
