So at work, we set quarterly goals called "10 in 90s" which is top 10 goals for the next 90 days. Of course, at work, I never really meet these goals because I am just trying to keep up with my work that I never really get to those illusive "big picture" goals. BUT in my personal life, I can set whatever goals I want and focus exclusively on them. ha ha. Yeah, right. But anyway, I set them anyway. I already erased my 3rd quarter goals, but I met about half of them, like:
Successfully training for and completing a triathlong
Trying stand up paddle boarding
Enjoying our Maine vacation
I did not:
Lose the weight I wanted to
Go on 3 kayaking trips this summer (only one)
Finish drywalling the basement...
But that's what's the 4th quarter is for. SO. On the white board for the 4th quarter is:
1. A plot, an outlet, and a kick-ass first chapter in my novel! (my much neglected novel)
2. A kiln. Which means saving enough money to buy one.
3. My regular savings goal, which I won't divulge here, but which will allow me to support my hubbie during his nursing education. Suffice it to say, that it is half my take home salary.
4. Drywall completed. For realz this time.
5. Lose some weight... for realz this time. 15 pounds to be precise.
6. AND... be featured on the etsy home page for my jewelry. Once again, that's www.etsy.com/shop/lovelarisa
So speaking of LoveLarisa, it's actually going really well. I made 2 sales at the store this month. They take a 40% commission, which in my opinion is highway robbery, but hey, it's not like I'm making a living anyway. I've been focusing on "getting out there" mostly. I continue to make a fair number of sales from friends, family, and work colleagues and my major source of revenue has been from lovelarisa parties. I've had a few offers to host these but it's been difficult to keep my inventory up. So right now, I'm in rebuild mode.
What else? Well, our October continues to look as busy as our summer. I have a wedding tomorrow and a mushroom class(!) Sunday. Monday is a holiday, so I plan to make jewelry all day. I have metalsmithing classes and tutoring and I plan to sign up for a half marathon in the spring... Anyway, time to make some earrings.
Some focus for 2012
